I have a really strong community on Google Plus and the people I am closest to are in my hangout circle. Hangouts let you put a voice to the name and face that you converse with in threads every day and give you a chance to shoot the shit and relax with a drink at the end of the day. I have often had movie trivia contests in hangouts (keeping score in the chatbox) and every Saturday for a year have participated in movie hangouts where we mock a cheesy sci-fi Youtube movie MST3K style. A great friend of mine Dave Levine saw a chance to do some social media marketing and have fun at the same time. He has been the proud owner of sextoy.com for over 17 years and I can truly say his site is the best of its kind available. I volunteered to be a contestant as I love trivia and I love prizes and am great friends with everyone involved. The first one hosted by Matthew Rappaport was such a success there will be another one Dec 19 and we hope to see you there,There are prizes for audience participation so it is well worth your while!
I saw a unique highly original documentary last night that really got me thinking. I saw Google Me a documentary that was a selection of the Newport Beach Film Festival in 2008.Jim Killeen googled himself one night saw there was 26 people with the same name and decided to track as many down as he could and interview them about their lives. He was surprised that about half were rude and turned him down, but I wasn’t not everybody wants to be on camera! Lol! My favorite was the Irish Priest . The thought provoking question he asked everyone was What is man’s purpose for being here? Some people were silly and said to play Poker but the Priest had the best answer and one I wholeheartedly agree with Man’s purpose is to love.! It’s only thing that makes getting out of bed in the morning worthwhile in my opinion. I googled myself and don’t see any other people with the same last name as me and conversely, there is no way anyone named John Smith could interview everyone with the same name as him (would take years :P) So I have two questions for you to answer Have you ever googled yourself and did you like the results? and what is man’s purpose ? Don’t say 42 as that is the meaning of Life LOL
Here is the whole documentary .Did you know Google gave them their blessing and even a brief interview. They thought it was a very creative use of Google
I was just watching Season 2 of Community on Netflix and wondering if season 4 was ever gonna start then I it was time to go to my library volunteer job so I got my tv podcast tv times 3 set up on my phone and was happy to hear that Community will be returning on Feb 7 to its Thursday at 8 spot, instead of being stuck on Friday night which would mean certain death for ratings challenged show. They already have a terrible time slot being on at the same time as my other favorite Big Bang Theory on CBS. I hope this season isn’t the last but if it is we will always have Netflix . I own the first season on dvd the cast commentaries are even more hysterical than the show.
What is your favorite episode? Mine is Season 1 episode 4 Social Psychology. Annie helps the psych teacher (John Oliver) with a project where they see how long each student cracks when left sitting in a room waiting for for further instructions. Abed really ruins the experiment . This show takes subjects that would be hard for most people to make funny in real life ( like the riveting Dungeons and Dragons episode) and hits it out of the park every time. Its not main stream but it should be! I watched this right from the beginning as I was such a huge fan of Joel McHale on the Soup. Just a great ensemble cast (even Chevy Chase is tolerable) I give it 4 out of 5.
